Atlanta native and R&B singer Ciara has recently announced an official release date for her new album Fantasy Ride. Fantasy Ride was initially planned to be released some time last year, but ended up being pushed back.
The new official release date for Fantasy Ride, Ciara's third album, is April 7 and the album will be released on Jive Records.
So far, Ciara has released two singles from the album including "Go Girl" featuring T-Pain and most recently "Never Ever" featuring Young Jeezy.
When the dance-friendly "Go Girl" proved to be unsuccessful, Fantasy Ride's lead single was switched to "Never Ever".
"The response to 'Go Girl' wasn't strong enough to ignite an album," a representative from the Zomba Label Group told Entertainment Weekly. "It's a nice setup single because [the video] introduces Ciara's new look and her new body, but it's not the opener."
Aside from working on the upcoming album, Ciara has also ventured into other projects which include securing a deal with prominent modeling agency Wilhelmina Models. Ciara will also star in the off-Broadway musical turned film "Mama, I Want To Sing" alongside singer Patti LaBelle.
Fantasy Ride will feature production by Polow Da Don, The-Dream and Danja along with guest appearances by Ludacris and T-Pain.
Ciara's previous two albums, Goodies and Ciara: The Evolution, were both high-selling albums with Goodies becoming certified three times platinum. Both albums were also able to break into the top five bracket of the Billboard 200 chart.
