In a recent video, rapper Lil Wayne proclaimed that he will no longer be rapping.
"I ain't rapping no more," Lil Wayne explained. "I'm singing ... I'm about to get some dance moves. I'm gonna get Chris [Brown] to teach me some sh--."
Later in the video, which was recorded at a studio session with Jim Jones, Lil Wayne fesses up.
"Nah. I'm f---in' with y'all. I'm keeping it coming," Lil Wayne revealed seconds later.
With a sixth studio album that sold over a million copies in its first week and included three chart-topping singles, the very thought of Lil Wayne giving up on Hip Hop seems more than laughable.
This video comes only days after reports of Lil Wayne allegedly creating a rock themed album.
"People see the guitars and they wanna call it rock and roll," Lil Wayne told MTV at the BET Awards. "I plug up the bass, I plug up the electric, I plug up the acoustic — it's not really rock and roll, its just great music I'm doing right now."
The reports of Lil Wayne's alleged rock album came shortly after Canadian rapper Drake shared this with MusicMusic.com, "Wayne's coming out with a new album, it's a rock album. A complete rock album. I have a song on there."
In similar news, Lil Wayne is one of the rappers 50 Cent spoke on in an interview featured on Eminem's Shade 45 XM/Sirius radio show.
In the interview, 50 Cent went on to describe Lil Wayne as a "junkie" and a "little baby".
"[Wayne] had a great album," 50 Cent said. "But he makes a lot of records and I think he's gonna exhaust the public with his sound. He's a talented artist, but if you put us in a space where we're in competition, my consistency will break his neck."
50 Cent's Shade 45 interview ironically comes only weeks before the release of his fourth album, Before I Self Destruct.
