NE-YO OFF THE R. KELLY TOUR

Posted November 20, 2007 -- Ne-Yo can go home, and not just for the holidays. At least that's what the folks on the R. Kelly tour have decided. "Let them tell it, I was removed from the R. Kelly tour because of contractual agreements not being met, but that's absolutely false," Ne-Yo told BET.com earlier today.

The Double Up tour, which opened last Wednesday, November 14 in Columbus, Georgia, is being headlined by R. Kelly, originally featured both Ne-Yo and J. Holiday as opening acts. But earlier this week, Ne-Yo was told that his services were no longer needed. "I believe it was because the first few reviews of the show, people were talking more about my set than his and I don't think he liked that too much," said Ne-Yo. So will he be spraying R. Kelly down with a can of mace the next time they run into each other? He laughs, "Nah, Nah. I'm gonna keep doing what I do, because it's obvious that's what was hurting him."

Despite the change of plans, Ne-Yo has decided to continue touring, only for a better cause. Yesterday, he embarked on a 48-hour multi-city tour for Ronald McDonald Charities' World's Children's Day. Starting in Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas, continuing on to Detroit and then winding down in New York and Philadelphia, Ne-Yo visited Ronald McDonald houses and hospitals to inspire children and spread the message that children are the future. "World's Children's Day is a day where we let the kids know that they are the most important thing on the face of the planet. This is about uplifting the kids," he said.

Although Ne-Yo's mom is in Las Vegas, Ne-Yo says he will be spending his Thanksgiving holiday with a special lady in New York City.
