Lil Wayne may be headed to jail for nearly a year thanks to a gun charge.

According to TMZ, the rapper is expected to accept a 12-month jail bid over his alleged involvement with a loaded .40-caliber pistol that was found on his tour bus while in New York in 2007.

New York – known for having notoriously tough gun laws – essentially forced Wayne, 27, to plead out the jail term. He now faces 15 years in jail for each count of criminal weapons possession and criminal possession of a loaded weapon.

According to a report by the Associated Press, a “minuscule” amount of the rapper’s DNA was found on the gun, and that strengthened the case for the prosecution.

Wayne still faces felony drug possession and weapons charges in Arizona as well, stemming from a 2008 arrest in which cops found 105 grams of marijuana, 29 grams of cocaine, 41 grams of ecstasy, various drug paraphernalia and a handgun on his tour bus during a traffic stop in Yuma County.
