In light of news that Lil Wayne may be facing up to one year in jail for gun charges, Ludacris, who has collaborated with the rapper on several occasions, gave his two cents on Weezy’s impending sentence.

“Wayne will live up to the responsibility of whatever he feels his actions were,” Ludacris told bloggers during a recent roundtable. “I also feel that something tells me he has enough music to last if he were to go to jail for 10 years, let alone eight months.”

He continued, “That is one of the hardest working negroes I know. Him personally, I definitely send my regards out to him, but I feel like he’ll be ok. He definitely has a presence in the music world, so he’ll be great."

As previously reported, Wayne pled guilty in his New York gun case last week. Under the plea, Wayne could spend up to 12 months behind bars rather than the 3 ½ years minimum when found guilty in New York state.
