Hadjii’s Introduction to SOMEBODIES

“Hey, what’s up, party people. My name is Hadjii, and I’m the writer, creator and star of BET’s first scripted series, "Somebodies." 

The show revolves around my character ... yes, I am the star of the show, too. Umm, the show revolves around my character, Scottie. Basically, he didn’t have his priorities in order, so he spent too much time partying in college and not enough time in the books and now it’s coming back to bite him. ‘Cuz he’s like a 7-year, uh, professional college student.

Scottie is on a quest to become a better man with assistance from his family; his friends; his ex-girlfriend, who is now his best female friend; the church and others in the community. Only problem is that the people in his life are all crazier than he is.

We’re really trying to tell honest stories that deal with young Black life down here in the south, but not in Atlanta or a big city like that but in a small town in Athens Ga.

I care about the way Blacks are depicted just as much as the next man and I want to change all of that. The only difference is… I’m not trying to do that on a television show, I’m trying to do it through a television show … a show that’s smart, clever, has edgy humor and deals with relevant issues that are going on in our society.
