Posted March 28, 2008 -- With BET’s Spring Bling holding court in the sunshine state, hometown heroes Rick Ross and DJ Khaled are elated to represent their home turf. Before taking the stage, DJ Khaled, who’s returning to the streets with a new album later this year, and Rick Ross, who recently just celebrated a number one album on the BillBoard Top 200 charts, chopped it up with BET.com before tending to the home crowd.
Known for his blatant and boisterous phrases, DJ Khaled, kept cool in the West Palm Beach heat while shooting the breeze with some of his industry comrades. “We’re backstage making a movie! Me, Rick Ross, Wyclef, Rocko; we’re doing big things. Shout to my artist Ace Gutta with his new single ‘Cash Flow’, it’s hurting the streets right now,” said Khaled.
Of course, Khaled’s life never provides a dull moment as he’s hard at work on a new project and preparing his artist, Ace Hood, for his freshmen debut. “Look out for my new album, DJ Khaled: We Global," Khaled asserted. He continued, “Ace Hood album [is] coming real soon in August called Gutta, straight gutta because he’s gutta.”
Right next to the internationally known DJ, is Mr. Number 1 CD, Rick Ross, who also took time out to relay new album plans, the status of his group, Triple C’s and what he enjoys most about this year’s Spring Bling festivities. An excited Ross told BET.com, “My squad, Triple C's, their new album is coming this summer and I’m back in the studio working on my new album entitled Deeper Than Rap.”
And though The Boss is all about his business, Spring Bling gave Ross sometime to enjoy himself in his home state before getting back to work. “It’s a bunch of [dimes] running around looking extremely beautiful, it’s my favorite television station and you know….it is what it is, baby,” Ross said enthusiastically.
