Hip-hop royalty and award-winning singer and actress Queen Latifah will crown festivities at this year’s BET Awards when she hosts the show’s televised post-show special.
The post-show will air on BET immediately following the live awards show being held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on June 28. According to BET, “The special will capture and recap the atmosphere, style and sexy of the night’s festivities.”
Queen Latifah will be joined by BET correspondents Tigger and Alesha Renee at Procter and Gamble’s “My Black is Beautiful Lounge.” The trio will interview guests and performers and highlight the show’s winners and performances, as they recall all the big moments of the night and dish on what the celebrities wore (and did) at the event.
Queen Latifah, who performed her rendition of the classic Rose Royce hit, “Wishing on a Star,” at the BET Honors in January, has also established herself in the fashion and beauty industry as a CoverGirl spokeswoman. She will also star in “Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs” premiering in theaters July 1.
