Enhancing a Smaller Breast
• Select lightly padded halter style tops or a demi cut with an underwire. A demi cut is similar to a bra, but it’s not the full cup. You can also look for swimsuits that have patterns or ruffles around the breast area. This will deflect attention away from the bust area
• Avoid bandeau tops, which make your breast look even smaller
Full Breast
• It is important to choose a swimsuit or bikini with support. The straps should be sturdy and full cups are a must; full breast are beautiful, spillage is not.
• It is very important if you’re buying a two-piece to make sure you have separation from your breast and torso. Without good support your breast and stomach will look like one, giving the illusion that you are larger than what you really are.
• Finding the perfect fit for your cup size may require you to go up in size.
• Select a bottom with a full cut to balance the top and bottom.
• To draw attention away from the bust area, try looking for a dark monochromatic top with a high neckline.
• Bandeau style bikini tops are not a winner for larger breast as they do not offer enough support or separation from the torso. However, if you really like this style try to find bandeaus with thick straps that you can tie around your neck.
Belly Bulge
• To hide the belly bulge consider buying swimsuits in dark colors or with a print to camouflage the tummy.
• Avoid purchasing any swimwear with horizontal stripes that will make the tummy area look even larger. Look for vertical lines that give the appearance of a slimmer waistline.
• Avoid buying a tankini. Many believe because tankinis are longer than a regular bikini top it will cover the stomach. Most of the time you will find that these tops began to rise exposing a hanging tummy.
• There are many swimsuits now that have tummy control, look for these and make sure they contain spandex or lycra.
Full Thighs and Hips
• Look for swimwear that gives you a leaner look. Vertical stripes will do the trick.
• If you are looking to hide the area look for cute little skirts or sheer shorts as a cover up.
Full Bottom
• Look for swimwear that offers full coverage. Brazilian bottoms are great, but not comfortable if they disappear into oblivion. Bottoms with high cuts on the hip will appear to cut into your flesh if you do not have the perfect fit.
• Avoid large prints and horizontal stripes on the backside.
• Avoid ruffles on the bottom, which will draw attention to the area.
• If you are proud of your full bottom you probably don’t have to do much to show it off, however you should find swimwear that does so in a tasteful way. If you decide to wear horizontal stripes avoid buying a full bottom with horizontal stripes. Look for bikini bottoms that tie on the hip with a narrow cut in the back.
• My personal rule of thumb, hide the problem areas and draw attention to the gifts. If you don’t like your backside perhaps look for swimwear that has a full bottom and a deep neckline in the front. That takes attention away from the backside and brings all eyes forward.
