Hip-hop legend Big Daddy Kane is not feeling how fans have reacted to the rap duel between Kendrick Lamar and Drake.

During an appearance on “Art of Dialogue,” the Brooklyn icon shared his thoughts on the verbal warfare between the 6 God and K-Dot. Kane contends that the fact-checking from each fan base took the fun out of the battle. 

“I was trying to keep up with the Kendrick and Drake thing but I kinda lost interest. It just wasn’t exciting to me — not because of them two, but because of the fanbase, he said. “The fanbase just made it to where, eugh, I’m good.”

“It’s not a competitive thing about who spit the better bars it’s a thing about fact-checking to see if this person told the truth,” Kane argued. “If the line is dope and he dissed you, it’s dope man. It’s that simple. He bodied you with what he said.”

“In my days of battling people, I said stuff that wasn’t true,” Kane added.

The “Set It Off” rapper urged all rap fans to just “enjoy the music for what it is,” and not try to gather facts to ascertain whether the disses are true.

“If that’s the way the younger generation looks at battles, good for them. It’s not about Kendrick or Drake,” Kane explained. “Their comments and their views, they make it unenjoyable for me.”

Instead of engaging with the toxic takes of fans about the beef, Kane said that he would rather listen to some of the classic rap battles that have occurred over the years.

“I’ll go back and listen to Bizzy Bee and Kool Moe Dee,” Kane went on. “You can have this sh*t.”

While Kane may not like how some fans are responding to the rap feud, the battle is undoubtedly one of the best in hip-hop history. Kendrick’s last diss track “Not Like Us” has broken several records on Spotify. 

Additionally, the track debuted at the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 this week with “Euphoria” (No. 3), Drake’s “Family Matters” (No. 7) Kendrick’s “Meet the Grahams,” landed at No. 12.
