Kash Doll May Be Changing Her Stage Name

The Detroit rapper wants to change her moniker to something more professional.

Kash Doll is changing a lot of things in her life and one of those changes may be her name.

The Detroit rapper made an appearance on Way Up With Angela Yee and she shared her plans to change her moniker. Following her second pregnancy, Kash feels like it’s time to consider changing her name to something more professional.

When Angela Yee asked her what she would change her name to, Kash responded that she may use her government name.

“Keisha,” Kash said. I’m a grown woman with two kids. I don’t wanna be called a doll no more.”

She also said that a name change would clear up any confusion with all the other “dolls” currently in the rap game.

“I didn’t come in like Kash Minaj or… Cash Thee Stallion. I feel like that was my signature but it’s so many of them now and… Imma just let them have that,” Kash went on. “I’m just ready to move on.”

“And then, it’s so many dolls… It’s so much, and it’s like, every time — you know, shoutout to them,” Kash continued. “But it’s like every time my name is brought up, it’s like, ‘Who’s the best doll?'”

In addition to her name change, Kash also spoke about her new album that will be dropping this year. The forthcoming, untitled project may reveal her name change.

“I’m juggling between a few things,” Kash said, detailing her process of choosing the title of her new LP. “I was going to say The Last Doll, and it means so much, right? Like I think I’ma leave the ‘doll’ stuff alone. I think I’m going to give it to my child — hopefully it’s a girl. I’ma go ahead and pass that down.”
