Cree Summer, Tatyana Ali, Keegan Michael Key, And More To Appear On Season 3 Of “Abbott Elementary”
“Abbott Elementary” is adding a constellation full of stars to its already star-studded lineup! Everyone’s favorite comedy series is back for its third season and is set to have actors like Lana Condor, Keegan-Michael Key, Cree Summer, Tatyana Ali, and Karan Soni as guest stars.
“Abbott Elementary” is known to have a special guest star or two, with previous appearances by Taraji P. Henson, Ayo Edebiri, Vince Staples, Bradley Cooper, Jalen Hurts, and more. Their celebrity guest roster is jam-packed. But they don’t just add anybody to the call sheet. “Abbott Elementary” creator Quinta Brunson said that it’s about “character first.”
Brunson said, “We're not really thinking about who we can stunt cast, we're just writing characters. Then after the fact — usually after the table read — we're like, 'Oh man, you know who would be good for this?’”
The show’s powers that be are tight-lipped about what these guest stars’ roles are; however, Cree Summer is one of the first to appear, and here’s the logline:
Janine spearheads a pilot program that brings a librarian to Abbott; however, when friction arises with one of the teachers, it strains Janine’s relationships with both parties. Meanwhile, both Melissa and Jacob deal with some big changes at home.
Guest stars’ characters tend to bring more depth to the show and are always an important thread to how “Abbott’s” cast relates to the world outside of the school.
"The guest stars that we have this season have been blowing my mind," Brunson said. "They're very organic to our world, but I have had 'pinch me' moments as someone who loves comedy and who loves TV and making this show. I've had two of them in the past week, where I've had to pinch myself and be like, 'I can't believe this person is on our show.' It's been incredible."
Season 3 of “Abbott Elementary” is streaming now.
