After being released from juvenile detention, 17-year-old Maria Ramirez (Katerina Graham) returns to her neighborhood in the Bronx looking to get her life back on track. Armed with her gift for dancing, she is determined to turn her passion into a stable career. Ultimately she finds herself living with Connie Daniels (Lonette McKee), the mother of Honey Daniels from the first film, and impressing members of a local dance crew. However, her past comes back to haunt her as an ex-boyfriend known for his trouble-making ways tempts her to go back to her old ways.
