K.C. Amos was arrested last week (July 18) after allegedly threatening to kill his sister, Shannon, amid elder abuse claims of their father—legendary actor John Amos.

According to the complaint obtained by PEOPLE, 52-year-old, Kelly Amos was arrested after allegedly threatening to kill his sister Shannon Amos “with the purpose to put her in imminent fear of death,” according to the report.

The filing states that Shannon believed “the immediacy of the threat and the likelihood that it would be carried out” after K.C. allegedly sent her text messages with photos of firearms and gang affiliations. The alleged threat made Shannon “fear for her life.”

Shannon has also alleged “terroristic threats” from her brother—including an alleged video that was texted to her of a handgun with a message that read, “gonna sleep much better tonight big sis.”

All of this comes as the 83-year-old actor has been hospitalized and is rehabilitating.

John Amos was able to release a video last month where he denied he was being abused and ordered any monies from a GoFundMe be returned.

His former on-screen daughter, BernNadette Stanis commented on the conflict involving her former TV dad, telling PEOPLE, "John knows I love him from the core of my heart. His children were lovely and have always been lovely. It just happened so that when you have a parent that you have to take care of or they're aging, there's a lot of fear amongst the siblings because you don't know — it's the first time and maybe the only parent. It hurts."
