Actually, Lil Wayne Might Not Be Finished With Birdman's Cash Money After All...

Not so fast, Weezy fans...

Lil Wayne fans threw their lighters up last week when news broke that the New Orleans rap icon reportedly settled his dispute with his Cash Money record label home and was also released from the contract he was bound to under the label’s founding CEO, Birdman.

R&B singer and Cash Money signee Jacquees has another side to that story, though.

The Atlanta crooner sat down with Sway Calloway for MTV’s TRL upon the release of his first Cash Money Records studio album release, 4275. Sway asked him about Weezy’s status with the label amid reports of his departure after 23 years.

“I just talked to Stunna the other day,” Jacquees confirmed. “He told me Wayne Cash Money. He said everything good.”

According to their conversation, Baby even said he’d arrange for Weezy to hop on a record with the 24-year-old, too. Another Cash Money vet, and New Orleans emcee, Mack Maine, affirmed this after letting Jacquees know that Wayne “always rocked with [him].”

A joint record of such would only make sense if Weezy really has ironed everything out with Baby, considering that he’s thrown down bars beside nearly every Cash Money artist except for a few, including Jacquees.

We’ll keep our fingers crossed with the rest of #TeamJacquees for that collabo, too. See his fact-check on the reported split between Wayne and the Cash Money family below.
