Save It Multiple Ways

You should have your résumé available in several formats: a standard Word doc that can be quickly edited and used to update all the other versions (saved as .docx); a stripped down, text-only version that you can upload and paste into the body of emails; a PDF of that Word doc that you can attach to emails without worrying about how it will display on someone else’s computer. And if you can’t resist a beautiful, well-designed, colorful version, go ahead and save it for handing out in person, particularly on interviews.
