Casting News: Lenny Kravitz and Corey Hawkins Land New Major Projects

Lee Daniels is adding his magic to one of the series.

Lenny Kravitz and Straight Outta Compton star Corey Hawkins are gearing up to join your primetime TV schedule as they've both been cast in two major projects for Fox.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the network handed out early series orders to what is being dubbed two of its most high-profile pilots this season: 24: Legacy and the Lee Daniels-led Star.

Corey will star in 24: Legacy, a new take on the popular franchise, 24. Executive produced by the series' former face Kiefer Sutherland, it features an all-new cast of characters, but takes the plot structure of the original series. Corey will play the main character, a military hero who returns to the U.S. and is faced with a series of troubles that continue to haunt him.

Star, co-written by Lee Daniels, is a drama set in Atlanta following the lives of three girls who join their talents to form a band. The series will chronicle their rise to the top of the music business and the series of challenges they face. Lenny Kravitz is set to guest star in Star, alongside mainstays by Queen Latifah and Benjamin Bratt.
