Lamar Odom famously cheated death last year after his near-fatal overdose in a Nevada brothel, but you couldn't tell by looking at him today.
The former NBA player has been seen out and about looking like his old self at Easter Services with his estranged wife, Khloé Kardashian, by Kanye West's side at the Yeezy Season Three runway show and — somewhat troublingly — at a bar having a drink with friends.
Now we finally have our first visual of how far Lamar has come in less than six months: on last night's episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians on E!, the Kardashians shared the first photo of Lamar in the ICU, his face covered in tubes and bandages, fighting for his life. It's a shocking sight to the say the least.
The photo was included in a sequence about Lamar's recovery that aired on last night's episode. "When we left you in the hospital in Vegas we didn't think we would see you again," Khloé is seen telling Lamar as they head to West's show at Madison Square Garden. "We were hysterically crying on the airplane. We couldn't even talk. Can you believe from that moment we've got here? I swear that people's prayers for you saved your life," Kourtney Kardashian added.
The family also credits Kanye's music for helping save Lamar. "Kanye really felt we can cure him through music, we can get him to talk," Khloé explains. "He would go to the hospital and he would rap and sing and I think Lamar started to get his function back and started to talk once he started to listen to a lot of music."
It's great to see Lamar back to his old self in many ways, but hopefully he won't go back to his old habits, too.
