Last year, Empire was the biggest show on the planet. However, this year the show appears to be in a slump. The ratings have seemingly hit an all-time decline as, according Deadline, dipping five percent among adults 18-49 from last week.
While this doesn't mean the series is in trouble, exactly, it does call for some concern as this marks a new low, even declining further from its previous low from its January 7, 2015 debut. Last Wednesday's episode now stands as the second worst ever.
Subsequently, it seems like the music side of the Empire brand is also suffering as the soundtrack also tanked on the Billboard 200. According to Showbiz 411, while the season one soundtrack moved a pretty impressive 110,000 copies in its first week, season two didn't fare as well, moving only 15,000 units overall. There weren't even any streaming numbers for the record since its debut.
Hopefully, Empire won't be leaving us anytime soon. Are you still a loyal watcher?
