Angie Martinez Airs Old Dirty Laundry With Wendy Williams In Her New Book

Her new book spills some tea.

Angie Martinez is celebrating the release of her personal memoir, My Voice: A Memoir, where she details all sorts of different stories and lessons drawn from her career in radio and her life off air, including her time at Hot 97 in New York.

One of the juicy stories in Martinez memoir calls out Wendy Williams who allegedly made comments that were directed at her when she was dating Q-Tip.

According to Martinez, Williams wrote, “One of my coworkers is dating Q-Tip from A Tribe Called Quest. Oh well. I guess some women like men who like men.”

As Martinez wrote in her book about the incident, “I lost my f***ing mind.”

“Before I knew it I was swinging at her,” Martinez wrote. “It was a quick scuffle. It took only a few seconds for me to realize that she wasn’t really hitting me back — she was just trying to get me off of her.”

The radio host then reflects on how a coworker stepped in to break up the fight and Williams in turn grabbed a mop, and according to Martinez, “[She] just stood there with it like she wanted to have some sort of sword fight or something. It was actually kind of funny, even in the moment.”

“The truth is that if it wasn’t me it was gonna be somebody else,” Martinez continued in her memoir. “She was disrespectful to so many people all the time. I watch her TV talk show sometimes and she has really mastered her lane. I find myself watching and laughing out loud. I don’t have any ill feelings toward her.”

We’re glad that the two women can laugh about this incident years later, as it definitely makes for a humorous trip down memory lane.
