Since Michael Strahan made his controversial exit from Live With Kelly and Michael, he hasn't spoken out much about it — until now. According to Page Six, the former NFL superstar spoke to Chelsea Handler recently, telling her he actually doesn't miss the morning show gig.
"I really haven't had a chance to watch [Live]," he said on an upcoming episode of the Netflix show Chelsea. "But I think I've been working so hard for the last seven or eight years since I retired from football, that it's been a relief."
Michael credits his departure from the show for allowing him to travel and spend more quality time with his kids.
"I really haven't missed it," he said. "But I loved it. Don't get me wrong. I loved it. When you get a break, sometimes you kind of go, 'Wow, I kind of needed it.' I needed a break."
Michael Strahan left the show back in May after ABC abruptly announced that he would be joining the folks at Good Morning America full time. After the news went public, Kelly took some time off since it was her first time hearing the news herself.
The episode of Chelsea will be available on Friday on Netflix.
