For years, there has been an unofficial campaign by sensible people everywhere to get Idris Elba to play James Bond in the next installment of the franchise. While the actor is flattered by the love, he doesn't seem to be up for it, saying it's pretty much played out for him at this stage in his career.
"If I'm really honest, man, I think I'm too old for that," the 43-year-old actor said during an interview on Good Morning America on Thursday. "Running around in cars and ladies and martinis. Who wants to do that? Sounds terrible."
While we're sure the Obsessed actor was being facetious about that last part, he doesn't seem to be as excited as his fans are for the prospect of him being the first Black Bond. However, he does see the rigorous campaigning to get his name out there.
"I keep saying if it were to happen, it would be the will of a nation because there hasn't been any talks between me and the studio about any of that," he said. "But everywhere I go, people want that to happen, so."
