16 Brutal Tweets Dragging the Golden Globes to Hell for 'Hidden Fences'
No one can make an honest mistake these days without Twitter dragging them for it. The Golden Globes found that out the hard way.
Jenna Bush Hager, who interviewed Pharrell Williams on the Globes’ red carpet before the show, accidentally combined the titles of the predominately black films Hidden Figures and Fences. However, the drama continued whenThe Founder star Michael Keaton referred to the movie as "Hidden Fences" while presenting the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Film.
Like, what is so hard about getting the title Hidden Figures correct? We're starting to think Hidden Fences is real (with the Internet probably working on their rendition of it as we speak).
Anyway, Twitter had a field day...
“Nothing will ever be as good as Gone With The Fence,” a user joked. “Take a shot every time you hear #HiddenFences,” someone else wrote.
Pharrell was nominated for an award for Best Original Score for his contributions to Hidden Figures. Fences is a different film, also nominated, starring Denzel Washington and Viola Davis.
Check out the best reactions Twitter had to offer about the show mix up below.
