It looks like Michael Jackson's fans and family got their wish as the Urban Myths TV movie has been shelved.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Paris Jackson's disgust with the film's choice of a white actor portraying her father had an effect on the film's production as the company ultimately decided to scrap the project.

"We have taken the decision not to broadcast Elizabeth, Michael and Marlon, a half hour episode from the Sky Arts Urban Myths series, in light of the concerns expressed by Michael Jackson's immediate family," the company's statement reads. "We set out to take a light-hearted look at reportedly true events and never intended to cause any offense. Joseph Fiennes fully supports our decision."

Paris Jackson spoke out against the casting, saying, "I'm so incredibly offended by it as I'm sure plenty of people are as well, and it honestly makes me want to vomit."

Fiennes defended his casting as the legend, making the argument that his skin tone was closer to MJ's than many would like to admit.

"His skin probably [became] closer to my color than his original color," he told Entertainment Tonight. "I'm a white, middle-class guy from London... I'm as shocked as you may be."
