Alabama Movie Theater Refuses to Show Movies With Gay Characters
An Alabama movie theater owner just made the bold decision of banning showings of Disney's new film, Beauty and the Beast, because it features a new gay character that he doesn't want exposed to his customers.
According to TMZ, the owner of Henagar Drive-In Theatre has had a history of being homophobic, as he said that Disney's decision to add its first gay character was "the last straw." He added that he refuses to "compromise on what the Bible teaches."
"If we can not take our 11-year-old granddaughter and 8-year-old grandson to see a movie, we have no business watching it," he said. "If I can't sit through a movie with God or Jesus sitting by me then we have no business showing it."
He added that the only films he will be showing at his theater will be "wholesome movies," that don't portray sex, nudity, homosexuality or profanity.
