Watch: Samuel L. Jackson on How to Deal With Constantly Hearing 'No'

The actor offers advice to those who may want to give up.

Samuel L. Jackson is gearing up for the release of his new film, Kong: Skull Island, and while speaking with us, he shared how he deals with the constant rejections of Hollywood.

"The beast you have to fight to survive is ‘no,’ especially when you’re a young actor," he said. "You go to audition after audition after audition, you hear, ‘no, no, no, no, no.’ You learn how to be [resilient]."

Continuing to offer advice to those who may be defeated by constant rejection, he says determination is the key to achieving one's goals.

"Take ‘no’ as a rallying cry as opposed to something that’s beating you down," he said. "You’ve got to find a way to stay determined."

See the actor also talk about working with up-and-coming Straight Outta Compton stars Jason Mitchell and Corey Hawkins in the video, above.
