Here's How the Taraji and Nia Feud Allegedly Started
Nia Long and Taraji P. Henson are at war on the set of Empire, and it has nothing to do with their characters. Apparently, the two veteran actresses are at odds over Nia's reported diva behavior on set — which allegedly got so bad that the show's longstanding hair and makeup team filed a complaint against her.
Well, now we might know the origin story of their beef. It started with a very bad joke.
According to TMZ, the feud started over a joke gone wrong. Actually, a couple of them. Here's what went down...
See what scoop Wendy Williams has on Taraji's future at Empire, above.
It all started when Nia was late to set, and a male co-star asked her if she was on 'Black people time'...
Nia apparently brought her diva attitude to her guest-starring role on Empire, both on- and off-screen. One of the complaints was her chronic lateness, but when confronted about it by a male co-star, she popped off.
Taraji, Feeling Irritated by the spectacle, allegedly came back with a joke of her own:
Seeing Nia continue to berate the male co-star, she allegedly asked Nia if it was her time of the month, saying, "What are you, on your period? Is it that time, girlfriend?"
And With that, a feud was born...
Since that moment, according to TMZ, things have been "barely civil" between the two stars. But the Empire cast and crew is completely #TeamTaraji, since she's always had their back. That means it's probably not fun to be Nia Long on that set these days.
