Alec Baldwin Hilariously Recalls the Time He Tried to Shoot His Shot at Whitney Houston
The late Whitney Houston was not only The Voice, but she was also a vision, and several of her Hollywood peers took notice of this.
One in particular was Alec Baldwin who recalled the first time he met the singer, who wasted no time politely shutting him down after a failed flirting attempt.
According to Entertainment Weekly, in his upcoming memoir, Nevertheless, the eldest of the famous Bladwin brothers related the story of when he tried to shoot his shot at the iconic singer and actress, but their interaction was cut short by just three words.
The introduction dated back to 1991 when the veteran actor was hosting NBC's Saturday Night Live, where Houston served as the musical guest for the evening. Excited to meet the "Saving All My Love For You" songstress, he colorfully complimented her on her talent, but she kept things short and sweet.
"One year I hosted [SNL] when Whitney Houston was the musical talent," he wrote. "After her dress rehearsal, I was introduced to her backstage. 'You truly are the most talented singer out there today,' I said, a bit starstruck. She paused and said, 'I know, baby,' then walked on."
Hilarious! We're sure he was grateful to have the honor of meeting Whitney while she was still here.
