Report: Cuba Gooding Jr.'s Father Found Dead in His Car

Prayers up for the actor's family.

Cuba Gooding Sr., the father of the Oscar-winning actor, was allegedly found dead in his silver Jaguar in San Fernando Valley, California, on Thursday. He was 72.

According to TMZ, he was parked on Ventura Blvd in Woodland Hills, California, where he was eventually found slumped over. The fire department was reportedly on the scene at 12:58 p.m. and attempted CPR to no avail.

Police reportedly found "empty booze containers in the car" and suspect he died from an overdose.

Cuba Gooding Sr. was also known as the lead singer of the 1970s soul group The Main Ingredient, who delivered the hit song "Everybody Plays the Fool" in 1972. He is survived by his wife Shirley, and four children, including actors Cuba Gooding Jr. and Omar Gooding.
