'Happy Days' Star Erin Moran Dies at 56

The actress was found unresponsive.

The entertainment world just suffered another loss as it was recently confirmed that Erin Moran, who played Joanie on the hit 1970s sitcom Happy Days, has died. She was 56.

According to the CNN, the Harrison County Sheriff's Department reported that police were called on Saturday afternoon regarding "an unresponsive female" who was eventually identified as the actress.

"Upon the arrival, it was determined that the female was Erin Marie Moran-Fleischmann," a rep for the department said. "First responders determined that she was deceased and an autopsy is pending."

Details on the cause of her death are still scarce at this moment.

Moran was known as America's sweetheart as she grew up before everyone's eyes on the hit TV show, which aired from 1974 to 1984.

Right before Happy Days returned for its final season, Moran starred in her own short-lived spinoff, Joanie Loves Chachi, which featured her fellow Happy Days co-star Scott Baio. The show was canceled after 17 episodes.

Following her iconic stint on Happy Days, Moran never secured another major acting role. She starred in smaller parts on other popular series including Murder, She Wrote, The Love Boat and Diagnosis Murder.

The Burbank, California, native leaves behind her husband of more than 20 years, Steven Fleischmann. The couple reportedly had no children together.

We send our heartfelt condolences to Erin Moran's friends, family and fans during this time.
