Huge news for Tyler Perry!

The entertainment giant just joined the Viacom family as it has been officially announced that he's inked one of the largest talent deals under the company's new leadership. The lucrative deal will see the entrepreneur deliver on all fronts of production including television, film and short-form video.

According to Deadline, Perry's new venture will see him produce "approximately 90 episodes" per year of original drama and comedy content for BET and other Viacom networks. 

The jack of all trades will adopt the same approach he's been implementing in his exclusive deal at OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network, where he has been since 2012. Thus far, he has helped propel the network into major competitive waters, delivering series like The Haves and the Have Nots, Love Thy Neighbor and For Better or Worse.

While Perry's film agreement will reportedly take effect immediately, the TV/short-form video plan is slated to begin in May 2019 once his partnership with OWN ends, seeing him develop new series.

According to the report, both elements of the deal will go through the year 2024.

Debra L. Lee, Chairman and CEO of BET Networks, recently expressed her delight in Perry extending his relationship with the network and the wider Viacom family.

"I am delighted that we are deepening our longstanding relationship with Tyler," she said in a statement. "BET co-funded Tyler's very first feature film, we've aired his movies and many of his series with great success on our networks, and we've honored his tremendous talent with our signature awards. This partnership will allow us to work even more closely with him and bring more of his iconic content to our viewers."

Perry also spoke out on the exciting new venture, himself: "I am eager to have one home where I can leverage all of their assets to tell my stories to an even wider audience," he said. "I have been very blessed to have worked with the incredible people at Lionsgate and OWN over the last few years and I look forward to continuing my work with them on a non-exclusive basis."
