Hollywood's most iconic Blaxploitation movies have a new home after Brown Sugar, the subscription VOD service website claiming to have "the biggest collection of the baddest movies" is now available on Amazon Prime's Amazon Channels. 

Brown Sugar's entire library is available to watch on Amazon Channels for a seven-day free trial, and $3.99 per month after that.

Fans of Blaxploitation films will recognize classics such as Foxy Brown, Blacula, Shaft, and many other classics. The subscription also offers customers access to Bounce network series such as Saints & Sinners, and In The Cut.

The streaming service was originally launched by Bounce TV in the fall of 2016 thanks to brand ambassadors Fred Williamson, Pam Grier, and Rick Ross. When asked what the site had to offer Grier spoke from personal experience.

“Brown Sugar is just like Netflix, only blacker," she said. "These movies are entertaining and fun, but they were also empowering to the black community as they depicted African Americans as strong leading characters and heroes for the first time.”

Since then, Brown Sugar has become available on most major VOD services including Roku, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire TV. Hopefully, with the addition of Amazon Channels to that list, Brown Sugar will continue to gain more exposure and encourage a whole new group of viewers to discover the historic genre of film.
