This year's Oscar nomination are so lacking in diversity that the nominations prompted the resurgence of hashtag #OscarsSoWhite. A-list stars like Jada Pinkett-Smith and Spike Lee have called for a boycott. There's much work to be done to get the Academy to be representative of all the talent in the film community, Black actors have a long history at Hollywood's most anticipated awards show.
