Queen of the Damned (2002)

Horror is one genre not known for its racial diversity (unless you count the Black guy who usually gets killed in the first reel), but we dug up a list of thrillers with a bit more color than average.

Aaliyah's performance as Akasha, the remorseless queen of all vampires who snacked on human hearts in the film adaptation of the popular novel was praised by author Anne Rice. Sadly, the talented singer and actress died six months before the film's release and wasn't able to see its success, though the filmmakers did dedicate it to her memory.
