From Another Mother: Celebrity Doppelgangers

The similarities between Dandridge and Berry are so striking, both physical and as actresses who broke barriers for Black women at the Academy Awards, it seemed like destiny when Berry played Dandridge in the biopic Introducing Dorothy Dandridge. Berry won an Emmy, Golden Globe and SAG Award for her portrayal of the groundbreaking actress proved the two women are connected across generations.
