Posted March 14 -- Last year, BET threw one of the sickest celebrations in Atlanta – the 2007 Hip Hop Awards. Now you get to relive the experience at home with a DVD of that memorable night. Toasting the hit makers in hip-hop, the show is full of energy and all of the swagger it aimed to deliver.
How could it not with crazy Katt Williams doing hosting duties? The pint-sized comedian promotes the positive in hip-hip, keeping the audience in stitches all the while. Old school hip-hop fans will enjoy appearances by Common, MC Lyte, Busta Rhymes, KRS-1 and LL Cool J. But lovers of the new will cheer in their seats when artists like show-opener Kanye West, Lil’ Wayne, Alpha Omega and Hurricane Chris take the stage.
But it’s Soulja Boy who steals the show as he gets the entire audience to its feet doing his contagious dance to "Crank That (Soujla Boy).” You’ll be doing it, too, no doubt.
And for all the T.I. fans, the DVD features never-before-seen footage of Hotlanta’s own rehearsing the songs he expected to perform that night.
See who takes home the top awards, check out Nelly kick-off his latest hit, and watch Kanye actually try to give his award away to another artist! Get it all and more when the DVD hits the shelves on March 18.
