The former couple have sued each other for defamation, mostly stemming from Tweets each has made about one another’s character and ability to raise their their son.
Recently, the two appeared in court together to hammer out some of the details of their custody. According to a source close to TMZ, Ciara lost big as her bid for sole custody was denied. Future requested joint custody, which is favored by California law unless one can prove the child would be in danger while living with a parent. The source also says Ciara was talking a lot of trash about Future to the judge, but it apparently fell on deaf ears.
An Instagram user captured a short video of the meeting happening at the courtroom where it all went down. Afterward, Future deleted all of his negative tweets and subtweets about the singer. So whatever was said during that court appearance must have led to each trying to erase their toxic past.
Back in February, Ciara sued Future for $15 million for libel stemming from his tweets about her. She claims the Atlanta rapper bashed her parenting skills and her now fiancé, Russell Wilson, in the press to promote his album. She names in the lawsuit a radio interview in which Future references a photo of Wilson pushing their son in a stroller and claims Ciara set up the photo op. She also details his ugly Twitter rant from January, during which he tweeted, "This b***h got control problems... I gotta go through lawyers to see baby future ... the f**kery for 15k a month."
