Here's Why Snoop Dogg Thinks Everyone Should Boycott The 'Roots' Remake
Snoop Dogg took to his Instagram this afternoon to voice his frustration about the new Roots remake.
Spoiler alert: he has no intention of tuning in.
Sending the message out in a video he posted on Instagram, Snoop urged fans to join him in boycotting the four-part series, which made its debut today on The History Channel.
“I’m sick of this s**t,” he says in the video. “How the f**k are they going to put Roots on, on Memorial Day? They going to just to keep beating that s**t into our heads about how they did us, huh?"
Snoop also mentioned 12 Years A Slave saying that he has no interest in watching shows that “keep showing the abuse we took hundreds and hundreds of years ago.”
He does raise a good point, calling for creatives in 2016 to “create our own s**t.”
"I ain't watching that s**t, and I advise you motherf***ers as real n****s like myself; f**k them television shows," he continued. "Let's create our own s**t based on today, how we live and how we inspire people today. Black is what's real. F**k that old s**t.”
