DMX Has Changed His Tune About Drake
Back in 2012, DMX gave an especially candid interview on The Breakfast Club where he detailed just how much he can’t stand Drake, calling out everything from the 6 God’s voice to his face to his haircut.
“I don’t like anything about Drake,” the rapper said on-air. “I don’t like his f***in’ voice. I don’t like none of the stuff he talks about. I don’t like his face. I don’t like the way he walks... I don’t like his haircut.”
Fast-forward a couple years and X is now saluting the rapper, even going as far as to call the whole experience of disliking Drizzy “humbling.”
“I did always say that he was a talented lyricist but I was not a fan,” DMX shares revisiting his past opinion on the rapper this morning (June 28) during an on-air conversation with The Breakfast Club. “Man, another humbling experience. Cause people were like, ‘Yo you didn’t like this guy for all the wrong reasons.’”
The rapper then went on to discuss how he found Drizzy reaching out for permission to sample his song on his hit album VIEWS to be a respectable move on his part.
“For him to take the effort first to want to use a song of mine and then to be man enough to reach out and make that call,” X recounted. “I was like, ‘Homie, hat's off.’ That was a real move. I salute him for that.”
Looks like Drake won’t have to be worried about the possibility of DMX “beating him up” anymore.
