That One Time Prince Secretly Worked With Mobb Deep...

This is such a good story.

N.O.R.E.’s Drink Champions podcast with DJ EFN always brings the best stories out of its guests and today’s (July 1) episode was no different.

Inviting fellow Queensbridge-based rapper Havoc onto his show, Noreaga got to talking with the man he’s had a long-time friendship with and an interesting story came up. Apparently Prince not only knew who Mobb Deep was, but even randomly collaborated with them on a track.

According to Hav, Prince was outside of the studio he and Prodigy were recording at. When his friend told him of the news and said he was going to get him to come into the studio, that’s when the Mobb Deep producer freaked out.

"I was making the beat, and then I was like, 'Holy s**t, Prince.' Then, I was like, 'Is there anything I need to do to the beat?' He was like, 'Hold on,' and then he got on the keyboard and just started [playing the keys]. He was that cool," Havoc recalled. Snoop Dogg and Tray Dee rapped on the track, which was later revealed as “Thou Shall Not Kill,” as well.

Of course, in the most Prince way possible, Havoc remembered him leaving without announcing his departure. "That n***a walked out and didn't even say bye." LOL.

Listen to the full short story, which was captured by TMZ a day before the podcast was slated for release, below.
