Of Course Melania Trump's Speech-Jacking Led to Drake Jokes...

Poor Drizzy...

It seems that even when it comes to speeches at the 2016 Republican National Convention, Drake still has to have jokes thrown his way.

If any event could be more distant from the interests of the Toronto rapper, let us know, but apparently since it was learned that last night’s keynote speaker Melania Trump lifted part of her speech from Michelle Obama’s 2008 DNC offering, the Drake ghostwriting saga had to be pushed back into the forefront.

“So Melania Trump had Drake's ghost writer help her with her speech or no?” one Twitter user wrote. “All the rappers came at Drake for having ghostwriters,” another one tweeted. “So yall gone make some diss songs about Melania Trump for biting Michelle Obama?”

One person criticized loyal Drake fans for laughing at Melania but not Drizzy when he was caught using a word-for-word ghostwriter. “Being quick to jump on Melania Trump for plagiarizing but protecting Drake when he does the same thing,” they tweeted. Does Twitter have a point?

If you remember, Drake was exposed as rapping word-for-word over ghostwriter Quentin Miller’s crafted lyrics for “10 Bands,” among other songs. The whole controversy came out after Meek Mill referred to Miller as someone who worked very close with Drake.

Monday night had Melania Trump reciting almost verbatim the words from the first lady’s 2008 speech. It got warm applause, which is ironic, because if Michelle would have said it in front of them, we know the reaction would be different.

Check out what Twitter had to say, as well as CNN’s mashup of the two speeches, below.
