Everyone’s given out their opinion regarding the beef, including French Montana. He joined Hot 97’s Ebro, Laura Stylez and Peter Rosenberg yesterday (July 20) and among the topics of discussion was Drake’s beef with Budden.
“I don’t know what’s going on with that whole situation,” French said toward the middle of the interview. “It’s just that name never came up when we were in the studio… Usually I would be like, ‘Yo, you really going at him?’… I think Joe made it about him.”
“That’s for sure. That’s confirmed,” Rosenberg replied.
“I feel like Joe just be in a dark room writing bars,” French said, which could be interpreted as him believing that Joey’s taking this a little too seriously.
The beef between Drake and Joe Budden began when Joe said on his podcast that Drake’s album Views wasn’t his best work. He then believed that Drake came at him on a then-unreleased song (which was later determined that he was). This caused Budden to drop a few diss tracks like “Making a Murderer Part, 1″ and “Wake.” Drake then took a presumed diss at the Harlem rapper on “No Shopping,” which caused Joey to fire back right afterward with “Afraid.”
The trigger-happy nature of Joe Budden’s initial shots and replies after Drake says anything does depict him as somewhat obsessed about this whole thing. Check out Joe Budden’s full interview with Hot 97 below.
