Who's the Top Hip-Hop Money Maker of the Last Decade?

Forbes reveals their list.

Dr. Dre raked in almost a billion dollars over the past decade. At least, that’s what Forbes is claiming.

For years the financial publication has been paying attention to the fortunes of the richest people in the world and for the last 10, has been studying rapper wealth.

According to their research, Dre along with Diddy and Jay Z were the top earners on their first ever Hip-Hop Cash Kings list back in 2007. Those are still the culture’s richest, however the order has changed.

Dr. Dre is number one, presumably since his sale of Beats by Dre in 2014. He raked in around $923 million in total banking. Jay Z is the second richest. He has reportedly earned $501.5 million from diversified interests, which include his Roc Nation imprint, Armand de Brignac champagne and D’ussé cognac.

Diddy comes in third. Since ‘07 he’s hauled in $435 million through his associations with Diageo’s Ciroc vodka, his TV network, Revolt, Aquahydrate endorsement and Sean John clothing line. 50 Cent, Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, Drake and Pharrell Williams finish off the list.

Note to rappers who want to become really rich: less rapping, more business. Check out Forbes’ s full report here.
