Nicki Minaj Trolled All of Twitter Into Thinking Her New Fruit-Themed Album Exists

She teased a new project and we're not even mad about it.

Nicki Minaj took to Twitter last night (October 8) to do one of the cruelest jokes an artist of her stature can do: tease a surprise new album.

However, her execution of trolling was so on point we aren't even mad she got us thinking this album, which she eluded was a 10-track collection of fruit-themed anthems, exists in the first place.

In her first tweet, the rapper wrote, "Ok u know what I wasn't gonna say anything but damn ya got it out of me. The album drops at midnight. It's called #PickMyFruitOut."

From there, fans went wild, tweeting back photos of women surrounded by fruit as well as hilariously guess what some possible lyrics could be.

Minaj then followed up with a tracklist, with each song being named after a fruit, like she had promised.

"The one I'm most excited about, however, is a track called, "N***a toss my fruit salad and it features my favorite rapper of all time," she added.

From there, it wasn't much longer until #PickMyFruitOut was trending on Twitter, with fans going into a frenzy regarding an album that was allegedly going to drop within minutes.

However, Minaj finally responded to a tweet asking where the album was, admitting that the joke was on us.

"*kisses u* love u back. All of u," the rapper tweeted. "Love you soooooo fkn much. I been cryin laughin this whole time, btw.... Good stuff."

Perhaps Minaj pulling a stunt like this is a test to see who's watching and who's ready for new music. We know we are.
