While several artists including Alicia Keys, Nas and Jay Z helped a crowd in New York City to have a collective moment of peace, others took to Twitter to hilariously live tweet last night's second presidential debate (Oct. 9).
In fact, many are making the argument online that following along on Twitter made the debates that much more bearable, with rapper El-P going as far as to say the whole presidential election makes him wonder what people would be tweeting about if Twitter was around during other tragic events in history, comparing the debates to the sinking of the Titanic.
With Twitter commentary now being an essential part of watching a nationally broadcast event, the social media company shared that last night's debate was the most tweeted ever, with more than 17 million tweets pertaining to the debate being posted last night.
Artists such as Wiz Khalifa, Joe Budden, Killer Mike and Ice-T were among those in the hip-hop community tweeting about the event, with several reacting to specific quotes from Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump, while others focused on sharing their thoughts in general regarding the future of our country.
Take a look at what some of our favorite rappers were filling our timelines with in the witty posts below.
