Bow Wow Joins the Rap Game (Again) for New Project With Soulja Boy

We didn't see this one coming.

A couple of months ago, Bow Wow came forward with a bold statement that he would never again step into the recording booth. While many thought he was serious he was putting his days as a hip-hop artist long behind him, perhaps all he needed was a little inspiration, or simply had a spontaneous change of heart.

Soulja Boy today (October 23) first let the cat out of the bag, posting an announcement to Instagram that he and Bow Wow have joined forces. Not only that, but their surprise album drops this Tuesday (October 25). As far as collaborations go, this one certainly is a wildcard.

In Bow Wow's post on Instagram, he describes the project as "soundtrack to a young rich n***a life." He also adds, in all capital letters, "BROKE HATING MAF***AS WON'T UNDERSTAND THIS MUSIC SO DON'T EVEN LISTEN." In addition to dropping the joint LP, interestingly titled Ignorant S**t, Bow Wow also shares the two have been planning a coinciding tour.

In a teaser clip, the pair can be seen rocking out to one of their cuts, with Soulja animately reacting to certain parts as if he was hearing it for the first time. One of the lines also curiously shouts out Watch The Throne, which has us wondering if these two think they really are capable of rising to Kanye West and Jay Z's level, or at least, back when things were all good between the two iconic emcees.

Back in the late 2000s, if you told us these two would be teaming up for a joint project, given their ongoing beef, we wouldn't have believed you. Back in 2009, both went shot for shot on YouTube, essentially arguing over who had a more successful career at the time.

Looks like both have come a long way since those days, or at the very least, have decided that there is strength in numbers.

Check out a snippet of the unlikely duo's new music in the clip below.
