Remember the Cashier Who Covered Maxwell? He Just Got the Chance of a Lifetime

Here's what happened after the singer himself saw the viral video.

One cashier's days of working at a Dollar General store may be far behind him.

Over the weekend, Maxwell got wind of the now-viral footage of cashier Lucas Holliday covering his song "Ascension," and has decided to do more than simply feel flattered by the gesture, instead choosing to offer him the opportunity of a lifetime.

Maxwell decided to surprise Holliday on Good Morning America, where he personally invited him to join him on stage during his King and Queen of Hearts Tour with Mary J. Blige.

“You sound unbelievable,” Maxwell said. “I wanted to personally invite you on stage at my Detroit show this Friday…Congratulations! You have a sick amazing voice.”

The legendary R&B/soul singer then continued showing Holliday love on Twitter saying, "he's doing more for me than he even realizes."

Absolutely incredible. Revisit Lucas Holliday covering "Ascension" in the clip below, and check out Maxwell's official cosign.
