Last week, adding just a tinge of controversy to Kanye West’s recent hospitalization was none other than Dipset frontrunner Jim Jones.
In a video shared across social media on Nov. 23, Jones had choice words after he caught wind of Yeezy’s “Jim Jones” alias used at the hospital. As news continues to surface about Kanye West’s condition, which TMZ reports is possibly worsening, Jones spoke with BET.com to clear up some misinterpretations that the video may have sparked.
“At this point, I didn’t know how serious it was,” the “We Fly High” rapper said. “He’s in the hospital for some s**t and he’s losing his f**king mind. Me being the comedian I am, I just looked at it like it was funny at first.”
He added that while he’s long been a Yeezy fan, it was unsettling to learn that the G.O.O.D. Music honcho was still “locked in the crazy house.”
While many fans argued that “Jim Jones” was too common of a name for him to consider that West was specifically mentioning him, Jones noted that his clout in entertainment for the past decade was reason enough.
“I ain’t worried about what nobody on the internet got to say,” he declared. “In the past 10 years, when the name Jim Jones has been said, who do you think they’re talking about? I’m the only Jim Jones that’s been on TV and radio. So who would they be talking about?”
Jones also had a few words of encouragement to share with Yeezy now that he’s learned more of the “Famous” rapper’s condition.
“Drink some water, man. Eat some fruit, get back in the gym, get your head space cleared,” Jones advised. “Then, get back to this music, man.”
Jones is currently cooking up new sounds with his latest project VL4L, which he begins recording on Christmas Day, along with some silver screen projects in the works.
Prayers are still up for Yeezy.
