The Preview of Mike Tyson's Diss Track for Soulja Boy Actually Sounds Promising
Mike Tyson did not appreciate Soulja Boy’s ear-biting commentary in regard to his plans for training Chris Brown for their upcoming boxing match. Now he’s making sure the world knows by recording a diss track aimed at the SODMG rapper.
After teasing at his newfound rap undertaking with a photo of him posted in a studio on Sunday (Jan. 8), Tyson revealed that he’d be “dropping heat” for us in the near future. However, the future was much closer than we had realized. Twenty-four hours later, the boxing champion posted a snippet of the track to his Instagram account with what sounds like the single’s hook.
“If you show up, it’s going down,” Mike raps in a loop over the beat. “I’m gonna teach him how to knock your a** out!”
The 30-second preview of the Soulja Boy diss is in further support of his R&B-crooning trainee Chris Brown. Damon Elliott, who has worked with the likes of Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Destiny’s Child and Macy Gray, also threw in his soundboard and production support for Tyson on the track. According to TMZ, Chris Brown is slated to drop vocals on the track as well and the two might even be shooting a visual to accompany the song.
Outside of the studio, Tyson confirmed earlier that he would be preparing Brown for the forthcoming boxing match between him and Soulja Boy. And despite undefeated boxing magnate Floyd Mayweather backing Breezy’s opponent for the fight, Tyson is obviously just as confident in his rap success as he is in Brown’s victory for the showdown.
