Judge Issues Warrant for Azealia Banks's Arrest

The Ice Princess was a no-show.

Following another hearing for an incident in which Harlem native Azealia Banks allegedly bit the breast of a security guard, a judge has issued a warrant for Banks’s arrest for failure to appear in court, Page Six reports.

During the Manhattan Criminal Court proceeding, Banks’s attorney defended the no-show by explaining that she was out of the country.

She had also sent a message for the judge that read, “I can be back tomorrow if the court needs it.” Unfortunately, the statement didn’t suffice well enough as a note of absence, and Judge Kathryn Paek issued the bench warrant requesting her arrest as a result.

The hearing comes only four months after an initial Manhattan court appearance for the incident in November 2016. Reports stated that the “Ice Princess” rapper became belligerent at a Meatpacking District club when staff didn’t recognize her as a celebrity. Once she was ordered to be removed, she allegedly attacked the security personnel, chomping down on her breast and also spitting on her.

Banks currently faces misdemeanor assault, attempted assault and disorderly conduct charges.
